Health Systems Global (HSG) is a diverse, global membership organization of researchers, decision-makers and implementers who are dedicated to promoting health policy and systems research (HPSR) and knowledge generation. After the symposiums in Montreux 2010, Beijing 2012, Cape Town 2014, Vancouver 2016, Liverpool 2018, Dubái 2020/2021, Bogotá 2022, Nagasaki was chosen as the next city for de symposium.

The main motivation of the Cycle of Pre-Conferences in the Americas is promote the debate on the design and implementation of policies aimed at achieving more equitable and effective health systems and services, providing a perspective from Latin America and the Caribbean. In this way, it seeks to enrich the global discussion with debates, research and experiences from the subcontinent.

The purpose is twofold. On the one hand, to generate spaces for national exchange on transformative experiences and visions that promote a necessary debate on health systems, taking into account the lessons that the Covid-19 pandemic is leaving behind and the challenges to face global challenges. Secondly, it is an opportunity to strengthen the selected papers with the purpose of increasing their chances of acceptance when they are presented in the global call for abstracts for the VII Global Health Systems Symposium.
